The government isn't interested in anyone having bodily autonomy, especially our kids.
Expectant parents, people who want to be parents, casually think about being one, people who are meditating on their own childhood experiences with their caregivers, people who do not have children and/or do not want children of their own but regularly interface with youth of all ages from 0-18 in myriad capacities, including but not limited to educators, after school program coordinator, guardians, grandparents, relatives, caretakers all, this is the workshop for you.
Before birth, adults and children alike are sexed, gendered and bombarded with messages about who they are, who they should be and how they are expected to behave--we as caregivers play a major role in a child's understanding of the world. This workshop will provide you with practical ways to answer youth’s (often) challenging questions about sex and sexuality using credible, accurate and well researched information inclusive of all genders and sexualities.
Together, we will cover what is age appropriate, I will provide a brief review of sexual health education from a queer, anti-racist, trauma informed, consent and pleasure based lens ultimately empowering you with the tools and resources to create an affirming, safe, comfortable environment for the children in your lives to make conscious, healthy decisions about their own bodies as they grow in agency and autonomy.
